My thoughts
I had never seen "Wicked" before and wasn't fully familiar with the story. However, after watching "Glee" for the second time in 2019, "Don't Rain On My Parade" became my most-played song. The takeaway: I finally came to appreciate the art of Broadway. Typically, I avoid anything heavily hyped online, but I gave in and bought the tickets.
I took my boyfriend to the first screening in our city, and the theater was completely full, with no empty seats. He was worried that people might sing during the movie, as he had seen online, but thankfully, this didn't happen. Surprisingly, he enjoyed the movie more than he expected.
As for me, I loved it from start to finish. I enjoy when stories begin with the ending, as it piques my interest and makes me pay attention. The costumes and set were impeccably crafted, though I wasn't a fan of the press tour, which felt over-the-top to me.
The timing of all the songs was also excellent. I expected it to be somewhat like "Wonka," which disappointed me at first, but "Wicked" surprisingly resembled a typical movie.
